Studio One 4 Latency

Here's how to correctly manage your audio I/O settings in Studio One 4 to ensure high quality recordings and the lowest possible latency.

Studio One recognises PreSonus interfaces with onboard DSP or, running under Windows, any interface conforming to the ASIO 2.0 DM spec. Then it makes low-latency hardware-based monitoring available, a condition it indicates in two ways on the Audio Setup / Processing pane of the Preferences dialogue. Ahh, maybe I was worrying for nothing then. I'd probably zoomed in too much in Studio One to really think that there's a huge clunk of latency in there. Many thanks for this. I guess I'd still have a lot to learn though. Thanks again! This message was edited 4 times. Last update was at 23:58:59. By default, Studio One’s process precision is set at Single (32-bit). Joshua guides you through the setup process, demonstrating how the application's preferences are used to choose an audio interface, manage the available audio input and outputs and set a buffer size according to your latency requirements. He goes on to explain sample and bit rates, and the typical settings you will want to use for general recording and mixing purposes. While very high sample rates are available where supported on your interface, they are not always required for everyday work.

After learning about audio setup, the rest of the course covers everything else you need to know to get up and running with Studio One 4, and be making music in no time! It's an invaluable guide to getting to know this powerful DAW, so check it out today.
